hey um i cant log on to global server today cuz when i click on it it just says connecting and just waits there forever so im just wonderin if anyone else is havin trouble today. now yes i am aware that this server has lots of problems but im only curious about today so please help me out
OK, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I can't connect to the global server right now either. Neither could I the day I bought the game.
IMHO, this is a lame way to run a multiplayer game system (and I've played my share.) I should be able to go straight to a server via IP.
And apparently it's not just the global server. Because on the day I bought the game, my friends could see the global server just fine but I couldn't. I tried the next day and it was fine, so I assumed it was just a routing issue. But now, this is the second time it's happened, and apparently it's not just me. Grrr...this is retarded. The only game I'm playing right now and I can't. Lame.

YOU CAN CONNECT MANUALLY... look at README.RTF
Manually Connecting to Freelancer Servers
Freelancer.exe supports a command line parameter for manually adding servers to the list of potential servers. This advanced feature requires that you know the hostname or IP address of the server computer as well as the network port on which FLServer is running. It is useful for playing on servers that are not on your LAN and are not advertised on the global server.
To add a server to the server list, use the following syntax:
FREELANCER.EXE -s<hostname>:<port>
where hostname is the name or IP address of the server computer and port is the network port number on which the server is running. You may add multiple servers by repeating the same syntax. See the ReadmeServer.htm file in the Extras directory on the Freelancer CD for information on manually setting the network port on the server.
