Mining.. artifacts.. abandoned ships??

I have beeen playing a few days on a friends server and we are having a blast, but i have a few questions.

How do you mine?

Where do i find abadoned ships and what do i do if i find one?

What are artifacts and what do you do with them?

mining is shooting tiny rocks in certain area's
(bigger the cargo the better for that)

artifact you smuggle to make money.

and you tractor ot shoot wrecks to get gunz and stuff.

pretty much, what he said. Also, check your mineable areas whenever you are done exploring and area. It might surprise you what you can actually mine in some places. You can mine artifacts and alien organisms in some places.
