hosting server and playing on ONE PC doesnt work

Im not the only one with this problem, but I havent found a solution in any forums:
If I start a FL server and try to join from the same pc, I simply cant, cause I dont see the server in the list. If I look into the server log theres always the same:
connecting to list server...
failed to connect to list server.
even if I cancel the server for internet...
I have win2k and no firwall

I tried it and worked here. You are going to MultiPlayer and then LAN right?

I'm also having that same problem, and yes I tried using lan.

I've started the server and able to play on the internet on my own machine.

I tried that as well but it lags alot on it, don't know why?

I run a server on my computer, and play via the LAN or the Internet connection.. no lag, and I have usually 6 ppl connected at a time with a max of 32 set.. just not a lot of FL junkies in my area I guess

I do this all the time and it works great for me.
