Multiplayer Game Depth

I've been through the universe in multiplayer with a group of fellows, and it seems to me that once you get to a certain point (explored everything, got all the guns, money, etc) that it really loses it's replayability.

Does anyone have any suggestions for reducing the premature staleness of the multiplayer component? I would love for people to sound off on their opinions. Perhaps by listening openly, we can arrive at a solution to this $50 problem.

I've asked a question regarding multiplayer commodity randomization in this forum. If that exists, at least you have to figure out new ways to make money depending on the server you decide to join.

Sadly, I think alot of these freelance types of games get to that point eventually. Uber Open Ended Morrowind did, even though the game world was huge. There was alot to do, but eventually doing Some New Faction Mission #4 was not worth the 100 bucks you got for doing it. FL just seems to hit this point faster.

My solution? I restarted MW with a specific character type and roleplayed it. You can do a similiar thing with FL on any persistent server, at least until some decent mods come out (new ships, dynamic trading universe, etc).

Well if the server goes down and does not return, you will need to start over on a new server so I guess the developers see that as MP replayability.

welcome to the ranks of the "dissenters" fellas. I hope stinger takes note of how i spell that since he usually misspells it. And, in case you didnt know, Stinger does not agree with you.

but your right, mp is stale and boring.

I haven't even played the game for an hour, but after looking at all the available variations of missions in the bar, I already regret I paid for the game.

Chuck it up to another "fun for 2 days game, then mindless boredom" from MS (the last one being Dungeon Siege).

I think I will just finish Single Player and pass it onto a friend.

Ok, my turn. You've played the game for an hour and already know that it's a waste of time? Time has come to stop bitching, people. You can bitch about the game all you want, outside of this forum. This is a privately owned, unofficial fan-based site. There are simply far too many people, players and reviewers alike (myself included in both catagories) who think Freelancer is a well produced, fun, and worthwhile game. Please feel free to start your own website if you wish, and of course, pay for it! May I suggest "freelancersucks.com".
