Think tank: Community pirate competition

I was taking a shower and this idea just poped into my head, about having a competition of profit and skill! I wanna make this a community effort thing so lets all throw some ideas and rule concepts into this thread!

Basic premise:
Try to score the most points by raiding a depot and getting away with the loot.

Ideas for rules:
naturally, a cargo hauler would be the best idea for this. but I wanna make people show some guts and skill, rather than taking a humback or dromedary into liberty everytime. So I propose a "points" system based on 3 things...

a)The level of your ship - lower lv, higher modifer to final score, vice versa.
b)The Level of your target - a target in Rhineland, for example, would yield a better modifer than Liberty.
c)The sale price of your loot at your designated homebase. This base is the base you launch from and will return to. Of course this is a test of wit also in that you need a fairly good knowledge of your base and target.

So according to the above rules, a pilot flying a Mule into Rhineland would score much higher than a pilot who flies a Humpback into Liberty.

Flying solo is dangerous, so I'm thinking we should allow the pilot to "Hire" player fighters at a set cost of their score, so they have wingmen to cover for them. Of course they can opt to hire more frieghters as well, I think a massive community freighter raid would be hella fun.

So if you got ideas for rules, operation, or even snide comments, post them here! even if the competition idea falls through, the idea of a community freighter raid still has merit if we all play on say, a pirate mod server.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, does a depot even drop that much cargo when you destroy it to warrant such an event?

Cheers,

Vavel, newbie who aspires to be a gentleman pirate.
