Multiplayer faction question

Just a question for those of you have have experienced Multiplayer..

lets say you are flying around with a buddy (or buddies) and lets say you run into some faction (pirates for instance) that you have a bad rep with but your buddy (human player) has a good rep with. Does your buddy then show up with a red target box if a battle commences?.. what would happen?

I hope this question makes sense.. I am just curious

Nope. Human players show up as neutral or friendly 100% of the time. Will make clan battles difficult...

It would make clan battles difficult to impossible.. unless some modification comes out that lets a clan add logos/colors to ships.

A little addition to that question: If you have a bad rep with the pirates but your buddy has a good one, who will they attack? You or the both of you?

"God bless this acid house!"
"I was near the scene of another crime at the time, officer."

They will attack you.... but not necessarily the person you're formed up with...I've experienced this several times in the border worlds... heh heh

Well actually it wouldn't be that hard, team 1 would join their group, and team 2 would join their own group, so people on your team would have purple reticles, and the enemies would have green. It would take some getting used to, but it could work.

Oh yeah.. I forgot about the"nuetral" colored box.. sillly me

what's so hard about getting used to shooting either green or purple boxed targets...? I thought those colors meant SHOOT! oh well, explains a few things, lol

What about if u pk another player who is allied with ur clans enemy, will that affect ur status first with ur clan ie:improve ur relantionship with them and secondly with that enemy clan ie:they hate u even more, to the point where they take hedge trimmers to ur ship.

Now begins a new Age... The Age Of Arumin

No. Humans cannot affect other humans reputations at all.

Human players have no effect on each others reps.

1. Factions will respond to each human player the same when you're grouped as they would when you're flying solo. If you meet a faction with whom you have hostile rep but your grouped buddy is friendly/neutral they will attack ONLY you and show up as red on your target list but green/white for your partner. If he attacks in some kind of foolish gesture of solidarity <g> he'll get the usual "cut it out/friendly fire" dialogue and then they'll turn hostile if he inflicts enough damage. The encounter will have the same effect on his rep as it would had he been flying alone.

2. If you attack another human player NPCs will not take sides, nor is your rep affected, irrespective of the rep of the player you attack.

I've always thought this aspect of MP was a bit pants, especially #2 above... the whole idea of the rep system is that your own actions dictate the way in which the universe responds to you. If you turn Rogue and attack a player who is Navy the whole of Liberty space should still come tumbling down on your head - as it is you can waste a Navy player right in front of a battleship swarming with patrol NPCs and they just turn a blind eye!

I think it is possible to make other players *red*. Look at this screenshot:
