In the coming weeks and months, many of you will be in a situation where you may be asked a question about how to do something in Freelancer. This is not meant to be any sort of "directive" by any stretch (who am to say this is the way to do it ), but these 10 tips can go a long way in making the game more enjoyable for everyone involved.

1. Be patient! We've all been there and know this game can be a lot to absorb.
2. Teach new people the basics of MP such as grouping, trading, forming up , different modes of chatting, modes of travel, etc. These skills are a MUST.
3. Take them for a tour, but don't go too far, they most likely are not strong and need to gain some experience, and survival techniques. Experience can not be traded like money, everyone probably should learn their own way of doing things. There is not one right way to do everything!
4. If and when you group with a new person, be sure to land everywhere you can, sure it's boring, but it does keep track of prices and saves everyone's progress! Plus some of the cut scenes are kewl!
5. When in a battle with hostiles with someone new nearby, let them get some loot, don't be too greedy! Share the wealth.
6. Let them learn some stuff on their own, it sinks in better for some reason.
7. Explain about a pilots reputation and how important that can be. Encourage them not to "kill everything that moves."
8. Explain some of the HUD and what each icon can do, there is a wealth of information there.
9. Be Patient!
10. Have some fun, THE most important thing by far!!

There is certainly more tips and hints, feel free to offer up your suggestions in this thread.

along this note, do you think that it will be feasible to split our playing time between single player (for the plot) and multiplayer (for the community) ?
