Multiplayer Problems please help

I have tried everything on this website everything on other websites downloaded this and that tried programs that directly connect you to servers but with no luck iv failed i cannot connect to freelancer servers i go on the multiplayer bit on the game click internet and it says "connecting to global server" i even waited for 2 hours without moving and nothing happend i go on LAN and it says "disconnected from global server" and "cannot connect to internet" or something along those lines and before u ask yes i have allowed my firewall to let freelancer to connect and i even turned my firewall off to see if that would work and it didnt and i do have a working internet connection i tried turning my computer off and my broadband modem then waiting a while and turning them back on this did not work i also tried uninstalling and reinstalling freelancer this did not work iv saw something about directx being the problem for some people on 1 website i checked my directx version its 9.0c if that helps you give me an answer at all also iv tried using all-seeing eye and got the servers up on the all-seeing eye screen but i click them and it says cannot directly connect you and takes me onto freelancer i went on the LAN and internet but it didnt show up please help me because i havent been able to play on freelancer online and iv completed the story mode 3 times and its getting repetative i hear everyone saying how cool it is playing with people on freelancer online and i even saw a star wars mod and that would be cool so if you have any information that might help me then just post it hear thanks.

Confusing, i do not understand how you can't directly connect to any other player server. Maybe it is possible to open some Ports on your modem but you should be able to connect atleast to some player hosted servers.

Depends on which server you are connecting to. And whether you are on a network. Some servers are being attacked by foreign elements taking large amounts of thier band width. To relieve this they have installed hardware firewalls that restrict the range of the ports they accesss. The problem with this is that some networks rely on a stealth mode security system that changes ports randomly. A bigger problem is that those networks are some of the best selling and most common wireless networks sold.
Can you imagine : Dad I need to disconnect our homes network to play freelancer?? not going to go far. Now if you are NOT on a network you might want to check if your actual broadband modem settings to make sure its user defined.

Just like the others i don't understand why the connection is doing that. It could be the network or it could be that the server is going down. I don't know but it doesn't sound good... :-(

As with everything i say about people with multiplayer problems make sure you have no programs running in the background and as a last resort turn off firewalls and virus checkers, then just make sure that everything is working fine, check all ports and stuff like that but i have never heard of this problem before.

Mostly such problems can only be sorted through a windows re-install.
