(SERIOUS HELP? - does that mean we can't make jokes or something ).

The freelancer cd has a help file on it about connecting to the internet. Its obviously possible, because people can do it. It's obviously possible for you to use the internet - because you can, so something stands between the two. My guess is firewall... who's firewall is it? Macfee NEVER used to allow FL to connect even when permissioned! I had to alt tab (which didn't actually leave FL's frozen screen, just meant i could "click through it" so to speak), and move my mouse down to the bottom right hand corner where the macfee alert "slid in" from (i couldnt' see it though). Hovering around I could find the buttons as the cursor changed, and if I clicked the correct one - it worked. If I didn't, i had to reboot the comp again instead.

It'll be your firewall/router if you have one, I am 80% certain... just the configure may not actually work as well as it should (i got rid of macfee because it was useless!).
Use kerio now (free version), which i find to be far superior.
