HELP!! please...

Hi, I've been away from Freelancer for a Looong time! Reformatted PC and everything! I remembered to back up my .fl files but forgot to back up my ID number... Is there a way to get it from the files? How do I do it? Which file do I look in?

Your user registry file (NTUSER.DAT for Win 2k/xp, USER.DAT for Win98). If you can mount the file to your local registry, copy the key Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Freelancer to your new registry.

If you can't ge your FL MP ID# then work with each FL admin at each server you have characters with. Usually all but the busiest of admins will help you transfer your old character files to your new account. Be prepared to list all your characters though to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt you are who you say you are.
