I used to have a similar problem - and I had permissioned and deactived my Macfee firewall many times to allow FL through.

I got rid of Macfee for Zone Alarm not long ago, and hey presto - it all worked again.

Another idea is to try a reinstall and see if that works... don't ask why, but its worth a shot just incase of random hell!

nope reinstalling it doesnt seem to do anything

and knowing my luck if i turn of mcafee i will get some Horrible virus

it seems to say that the servers are available but no servers appear

Have you tried direct linking to the server you want?aka putting the server ip and port no' in the target line of ur shortcut on ur desktop(assuming u actually have a shortcut)
Here's a example /freelancer.exe" -s123.123.123.123:1234
the 123.123.123.132 is the ip address,:1234 is the port no..if u can't find the port no' for the server,ask the admin..they're usually kind enough to give it to you(well they want u to play there don't they!)

Or try x-fire,that's another decent way to get on the server u want (don't ask me how it works..i don't use it,it's just a friend of mine keeps going on about it!)
