have you followed the readme file that came with ioncross - it contains information upon how to change ioncross to work with mods that change exe version numbers

upto now i have installed ioncross mkiv and replaced the notepads with the 1.28 hash files, load up the ioncross, for around half a min ioncross will act as if it has crashed but after half a min it will be back to normal however it seems to be stuck on checking server status....

could you tell me how i would need to get it to work step by step so i can see if i have missed out on anything?

Am trying to find my instructions - as I don't have ioncross. I am sure that if you go into your Ioncross directory, you will find a settings.ini file - or a settings file or something like that. Open it with a text editor, and somewhere you will see version 1.00 or some such stuff like that. Change the version/compatibility number to 1.28 instead, save and exit. That should work.

Also ensure your firewall has granted permission for Ioncross etc to work

i didn't find a settings.ini, however when i loaded up ioncross in offline mode and had a look at the settings that way i saw that it said window name: FLServer - Version 1.00 Build 11 - FLServer so i changed the 1.00 to 1.28 and now it works fine thanks a lot for the help

...if you would have read the README you could have saved a lot of time

It's displayed during installation, you can't miss it. And if you do, it's saved as README.TXT in the IFSO folder.
