Transfering MP characters?

Is it at all possible to transfer my character to another? I ask because my friends started a server, we played for a while, but then I started a dedicated server in attempt to reduce lag.
I was wondering if there is some way to transfer our characters from that old server to my new one? Do i have to have special prgrams or anything? Thanks a lot.

PS - I searched these forums, but I coudn;t find any threads about this. Sorry if it's been asked/answered before, but I do appreciate any help.

The easyest way to do it is to copy %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\Multiplayer\ folder from the old server to the new one.

This way you will transfer all player accounts but also the server ID.

Well, thank you for that, I understand how to do that now, but I have this problem:

I have a wireless connection, radio internet from Aircanopy.net, and I have a router in my house. The comps in my house use wireless communicators to talk to the router, and that's how my internet works.
I have started a server. I have SDK 1.3 installed, with a mod and its upgrade/addon. My friends have the same setup as I do.
Howver, they cannot connect to my server. They say it tells them that there are issues connecting to hte server. I don't understand why they cannot connect to mine. I can connect to theirs, but they cannot connect to mine.

What is the reason for this? Is there some secret thing about FL, like wireless connections cannot host a server?
Thanks for any advice/help.

open ports 2302 to 2304 udp on your router

Why doesn't DOS ever say 'EXCELLENT command or filename!'

Actually you can control what UDP port flserver use using /p<port_number> when you launch it. Then you will have to set up your router to allow UDP connections to this port, or if router is doing NAT you will have to setup a port-map for that particular port.

Afaik UDP port 2300 is also used for Global Server List connections, in order to get your fl server listed (not sure about this though). For further details please refer to readme.htm on your Freelancer original CD
