Wouldn''t a dockable battleship be cool to fly?

I was just crusin around the Pirate Clan server and had an idea, what if someone made a mod that would feature a fully-functional battleship? I'm not just talking about guns and think armor and slow moving and the stuff that already exists, but what if other players could dock with your battleship? I think it'd be killer, then you and your group could be cruisin, one player gets a battleship, the others get fighters and the battleship works like a mobile base station! This ship wouldn't be able to dock with anything though, so I guess it'd have to rely on its fighter buddies to pick up stuff from other stations and planets for it. Imagine the duels.... one task force against another... yeah, just a crazy idea I had, so lemme know what you think!

Impossible. And no, it's no fun being the Sirius hooker where all Freelancer dock in

I think that sounds awesome, but only stationary battleships are dockable... maybe someone could fix that.

You can't "fix" what isn't broken. These things are hardcoded. That means you'll have to crack the Freelancer.exe which is against the law.

From what I understand, this is possible to do. The problem is that when the battleship dies with players inside, everyone involved crashes to desktop, as well as the server.

NOT POSSIBLE.

Give up on this idea guys. It'll never happen.

DOCKABLE objects are STATIC. They're coded into a system's ini file at a given set of coordinates. There's NO way it could be moved without restarting both the client and server software, and changing the INI files on both ends.

Trust me, if it were do-able, it would have been done already.
