Server Reauirements

Hey Everyone,

I am looking at standing up a Freelancer Server to support the Evolutions Mod. I was wondering if anyone could give me some input on my current configuration.

Dual PIII 500Mhz CPU's
512 MB Ram
64MB DDR AGP
150 Gig HDD
Win 2003 Server

Will this configuration be able to support a Freelancer server?

Any recommendations will help.

Thanks
TRSundown

Would say it needs more ram, 768 or 1 gig helps. Plus might be a bit much for the cpu's even if you have dual's as the server I manage uses dual p3 1gig's and it does struggle when full with No mods installed an worse if mods in use.

edit: also IFSO aka Ioncross Freelancer Server Operator has issues with win2003, better if using 2000 or XP

I personally think thats ok settings except for your Mhz. That definatley needs to be at least 1 Ghz.

As its only pentium 3, I would say you are looking at being able to support 10 - 15 players on there, your processor speed is the most limiting factor there, but then it is dual, really you need at least 1Ghz bare minimum, You may get 10 - 15 players as a max but I dont think you will fly much higher than that, hows your internet connection?

Well I have a 768K Cable connection. I usually ping all servers really well. So I dont think my connection will have a problem.
