Starting Faction

Is there a way to have starting conditions (Faction, Money, Ship, Location. etc.) based on nick template using only server-side mods?
EG.: If player nick is [Templatenick-name it would start with the ship and location defined for that specifically Template.

My own creation, Freelancer Starting Mod Pack could be useful to you. Used version 1.2 of FLMM but I'll be updating it soon.

Thx for the reply, I had already looked over your mod and it's quite some work you did. My only problem is that I have to make flserver load different mods from the pack automatically based on player nick name...

Hmm. . . you know, I've been looking for something like that myself. I haven't used the lastest beta of FLMM yet, but I think this requires an outside program. If mods can be executed by a utility of some kind at different times of the day, I'd sure like to get my hands on it.

I've had problems testing my mods when I create a character while changing the mod, and I ended up having to remove all my characters to get it working again. I'd be careful with anything that alters the mpnewcharacter.fl file while someone is simultaneously creating a character. Might just be better to have these faction mods activated at a certain time instead.

You wou;dn't have to do that, save yourself alot of stress by downloading Ioncross Freelancer Character Editor. The server host is the only one who can use it, and you could manually edit each one of the character how you see fit. YOu can edit money, ship, location, all the little goodies.

I already have been using IFSO, but with IFSO you have to change thing manually . I'm trying to do something that works automatically and has no need of human intervention

humanity has reached the epitomy of laziness.

we got an editor that lets you give yourself ANYTHING in a GAME and we complain about doing it manually.

being lazy rocks!!

heres one that someone told me to use wen i had the same question:

Try Ioncross Freelancer Server Operator and FLadmin by Fiik.

Orillion: So trent, will you help us with the mission?

Trent: Sure, as long as I'm not shot at, knocked out, held at gunpoint, electrocuted, skewered alive by giant alien shapeshifters, have to dive out windows, or fight off spindly nomad incubi.

Why not have everything voice activated? so we dont even have to move...save caleries that way!

Well... for playing there are quite a few programs that let you execute game commands through voice. But for FL voice is too slow . Imagine talking to your ship: "Up, down, right, right, fire.... sh*t I missed"
