server list... and other stuff

well, i hear you all talking about these great servers that I would like to join, even big servers that everyone has heard of... but when i go into multiplayer, said servers are not there! theres a huge list of servers, but not the ones im tryin to find. I have no filters turned on, no firewall, DSL connection

and, im lookin into making a server. tell me, if i were to make a server, how would i get it up and running? because the FLserver.exe program i found is CRAP. all it lets me do is name my server and tell how many players can be in it. how about giving people admin, running mods?

Try Ioncross Freelancer Server Operator and FLadmin by Fiik.

In the FL global server list you can click at the top of each column and make all the FL server entries list in alphanumeric order. Doing this for the player column, after letting your 'puter gather some player ocunts, can get you a list of the most heavily played servers at that time.

Like Shaitanro says, FLSO is a must. As for the rest there are some helper programs for mods and such but most of it is a learning curve and is hard work. Although reading TLR forums is a must
