New 24/7 server opening

I'm starting a new 24/7 server using some big mods. These mods will redo alot of the freelancer settings including ships, systems, weapons, armors, mines torps. and missles, and alot if other things. This will greatly enhance the play experience for all normal to expert players.
(NPCs are better and harder so this is not for people new to freelancer)

If you know about mods and want to help, email me... [email protected]

I also need to know how to make server admins; How can I let some members be able to ban members??? As far as I know, sense i'm running the server, I can just pick somebody and bann them but how can I make other people able to do the same to MY server?

Unless they can actually touch your server, they cant.

I think the next version of IONCROSS has plans for remote access but this is on hold while they make total war.

Do for now i think only yo can ban players, However ioncross will auotbann most cheaters so you prob wont need a team.

Dpends what your planning on doing though?

If you don't mind someone actually being able to do ANYTHING to your server, you could enable M$ Remote Connection software. This is the easiest and fastest but less secure way to allow someone to remote admin your server. This allows them to do anything you could do sitting in front of the 'puter through the Internet from anywhere in the world. The only thing I heard you can't do is bring up Task Manager remotely. Requires you to open port 3389 in your firewall (there is a selection for the Remote Connection in WinXP's firewall) same as you would open the one port needed for flserver. You also need a account on the server. Would HEARTILY suggest you limit account amounts and password each one.

Otherwise only Fiik's FLAdmin program has flserver remote admin capabilities.

you can let admin come in remotely for kick/ban and messages, by using fladmin 1.29, its in the download section here, it allows admin to come in via telnet, it only uses 1 port (23), and seems secure, the server can also be stoped remotely for respawns but i tend to use ioncross flso do the restarts and everything else. mainly cos it rocks.

Yes as Tylium said, Rebalance 3.30 "needs" a reliable dedicated server. But taking on this comes with great responsibility, because this mod tends to crash servers quite often unfortunaltely. But everytime a crash happens the players are all back in in seconds which goes to show that gameplay is craved by fans of this mod regardless of obvious instability. So far every server with this mod running is either gone in an average of two days, lags like hell, is only a test server, or simply just not up enough to keep from pissing off players. Its hard to enjoy a good mod that you can't play online without starting new characters two times a day or more because servers are dropping like flys. I say good mod because in my opinion it is just that, even though much of it is combination of many others its balanced well. Now, if only the damn EFA system wasn't so unstable.
