Question about ip

im curious im running a server and a friend of mine told me that my ip to my network is showing is this normal? i mean in the router i have i have it set up to where the DMZ is activated. Should it show my static ip or my network ip?
i mean like for example 192.168. etc. is this normal? or no? please help i dont want to wake up one day and find out my computer is infested with a virus.
By the way the server is on my second computer not my main.

your 192. whatever internal LAN ip will show up to you, your WAN static ip will show to everyone else

uk server is right. But why are you opening up your system by enabling DMZ? Your "router" is prabably a gateway as you say you can set DMZ which is only done in a firewall. (Instead of router the correct term is gateway which has in it a firewall, DHCP server, router, gateway and possibly other things. A pure router just takes network in, network out, nothing more nothing less) Instead you should go to the virtual server part of the gateway (sometimes called tunnels) and open the ports 2302-2304 to your server's LAN IP address. Of course your server should have a static LAN IP address. Notice I said LAN, in your case any IP address starting with 192.168.... is a LAN IP address.

Why do this? So you open far fewer ports to your server and what ports are opened are automatically handled by software (in this case DirectPlay, part of DirectX for flserver) looking for specific things, certainly not hackor intrusions.
