FREELANCER ahem fixed

Hi i dun wana intrude or anything but i gota ahem fixed version of freelancer which use to work on multiplayer
but sumhow i managed to forget about the game but now i am into it again but i just can't connect to the global server

i tried patching it but it still says version 1.0 at the bottom corner
is this the fix's problem or is it my computer

the 1.1 patch doesnt make the version number go up... i think it was a over sight by M$

i am ashamed to say i dont have a original freelancer either but i have no problem playing online whit that version exept when i am running the THE NEXT GENERATION that updates your Freelancer exe to version 1.70 and since i dont have a cd i use a no cd crack that makes freelancer version 1.0 again so i get a version miss match but to all the ppl that reads this post i am planing on bying Freelancer as soon as i can find a store that ships out side the states ( i live in Norway)

i had the same probleme. i caoldnt connect to the global server either. i got it to work though. i advise you check that all the correct ports are open. also what fixed it for me was mailing my ISP and asking them if they had the ports i needed open too.
