CSV: any regular (1.1) servers alow the CSV ?

hey

I saw the CSV post in the news and remmebered the old post about it 2 weeks ago (I think).

I remmember in the old news post they said that CSV could be server side mod, so anyone alow/added it on his server?

I think it would make the galaxy more reialistic since it got 80k cargo space so trading and making money would be more reialistic and the same for piracy (pirates Attack and one of them with CSV take the loot), I think it would be great addition to MP.

if anyone knows about servers (1.1) using the CSV plz tell me.

80k cargo space is NOT realistic, the CSV isn't any bigger than a Rhino which has 80!

In it's current state it has a snowball's chance in hell of getting in servers.

A darn shame, as I want to fly a CSV as a Junker character!

Ahhh! I'm sure it can be done. I used FLSO and was able to run around, dock and undock in an Anubis. I run the patch and Lancerguard. (For those of you who don't know most checking for cheats (mods) and booting occurs during undocking) I bet one could modify server-side and add the sale of such ships.

There is one thing that is overlooked. Without corresponding software on the client side (like the TNG mod client software), I will bet this will add to server bandwidth. Even in my two server side mods on my server I have noticed an increase in traffic, hence why I limited one of them a bit and have added no others.

Yeah Ears, any time the server and client machine have mismatched files you'll need extra CPU cycles and packets to keep things running properly

That's why as a serverop I hate cheaters so much - because of them I need to limit the players on my server to half of what it's capable of because if my server's full and there's only a few cheaters on, it lags like crazy. We'll get this problem fixed though

@DOOM - the original one had a cargo space of 200, but could be easily modified to have 80k!

The Anubis isn't a valid comparison, the game has it set up as a valid player ship.
Only thing is it isn't available for sale. Same goes for Starflier. I'd love to see a
server side mod make BOTH available for sale, I don't think this would cause lag or anything.

Any ship that is NOT recognized by the game as a valid player ship may lag a server, AFAIK.

One possible exception may be the Starblazer, wasn't that supposed to be a
player ship but DA dropped it? I'm not a modder so I'm just thinking out loud here.

In any case, 80,000 cargo space is cheating in my book, sorry.

if it makes lag then no need for it.

but all Transports got 80k cargo space!

and its not cheating if all players can use it, sometimes I feel trading is boring nothing happens the AI pirates easy to avoid and the players who are pirates are afraid to attack frighters since most servers unite against frighters killers and put bountes to who makes them pay, insted of wasting time a transporter with 80k cargo space would be gr8 solotion any way clans will had to move there transports with protection (unless they use F1) so they will be not just a legal target or an action of war betwen clans but it would be a chalenege to attack such canvoy and looting it!

Hmm - the CSV is NOT a transport. Its a combat service vehicle.

Though I'd like to see the CSV in servers, but the 80K cargo space is just too much. If you had a transport with that, I wouldn't mind, but a CSV? Speaking of which, I wouldn't mind seeing transports on servers either, but I know a lot of people who wouldn't like it.

And if pirates are afraid to whack freighters because of bounties, they aren't doing their job right! Pirates are supposed to be fearless. Look at the rogues; they still attack me in a decked out eagle! Brave but stupid buggers...
