For the record, those comments come from more than one clan folks. Those come from MANY clans, and non-clan members alike. I've got ton's of copy-n-pasted conversations from Elite of just about everyone I've spoken to, and listened in on conversations of and it would shock even the most seasoned sailor.

Self-policing is the only way to end it. That means it won't happen and the more you complain about it the more you'll hear it. Human nature. I know the admins can't stop it, not even going to try. Maturity is an acquired taste.

I was not addressing a particular clan perse although those-who-can-not-be-named are the ones who are most often doing it.

All I am asking for is that people realize that this game is not only played by adults.

I know that again I will catch a lot of flak for this from a few inDUHviduals who will start yelling 'that it is all part of the game' , sorry the use of such language is NOT part of any game or any conversation.
If you feel the need to express yourself in such fashion do it among your family members and see how long they will put up with it.
I can asure you that if I would address my father in such a fashion he would not hesitate to beat the stuffing out of me no matter how old he is and no matter how old I am

Nothing wrong with asking, but again, human nature will not support this plea for people to be considerate of others in an MP environment. The complete opposite is generally the case and not just in FL. Realistically speaking, not talking about it at all is the best deterrent. So I'm not gonna...... (end of transmisson)

Just to support stinger, here is true example:
i know about some player who was banned over his language on one of the servers, yet seen him today and he was abusing his tongue even more then usually. He is immature i hope he grew up some day, other then that....

guys........... guys........ guys......... I think there is no need for foul language, there is plenty of other words to use. EXPECIALLY to use foul language ur language against other players...... If you need to do that, i have one thing to say.




















GROW THE FREAK UP!

Its more fun to use words that are a little too complex to understand than swear anyways. They shut up quicker......... All you can realise is that use of the swear words is not to translate anger usually, but is bourne through a lack or vocab, thought and immagination.

Simply put, they don't have the brains to use normal english, as expletives have become the 'norm' for convo. It doesn't apply to just 'clans', - simply put a load of men (not many women play FL, though i have met a few) in a room for two days, and when they come out, every other word is beginning with 'F'.

Have a clan who chat for a couple of hours a day over priv channel, and you will inevitably get a very colourful vocab there. By the time it comes to respoding to someone, boom - its all swears. They should watch thier language,.. but it won't happen.

For that, people need to be considerate.......it just aint human nature with half the population is it?

You sould not turn your back on something because it just dont go away.
The answer lies in truth to all and most important to one self. To say they just wont listen is to say i just dont care. With that u have allready lost and should just go home. But I say stand up and become more then what u are and lead like a leader should. Make the first steps like u already have. The real test is to stick out your convictions, so I say let their be a forum for just admins and let all admins that really care join together and to gether I am sure that we can stop must of the problems that we see on this forum every day.

The things we could do together is more then I could even dream of but the exsamples would be to share imformation on who are the problem players and begin with temp bans on all servers. details could be worked out u just have to be willing to make the first steps as I am now. all computers have IP address and we could let other servers no who to and who not to ban but must I repeat must work togeter or like Stinger said it would be useless.

So let me be the first to start. I have web site to put on forums and would be willing to do most start up work to bring us together. Now some one help me and say Ok! It is just that easy so do if u really care about all that we have done so far then stand up and make a diffirence because it can be done.

All good points. But I have learned through years of life's lesson to pick my battles well. This is one war admins have zero control over. A temp ban all the players that use bad langauge? There's not enough hours in the day my friend. Let's be realistic of expectations for a minute please.

I think chips is right, something I have noticed in all aspects of life is that swearing is becoming more and more commonplace. It doesn’t seem to matter where you are, work (I work in a busy office), out socially, anywhere. The use of swear words has escalated to such a degree that it is considered ‘normal’ by a large proportion of the human race.

By no means is this a problem our forums are suffering from on their own, its just that a lot of people don’t even think of it as ‘rude’ any more. Sure, there are other words to use, opinions can be successfully communicated to others without harsh language, but then that requires real thought, not always something seen in the posts.

Maybe a ‘virtual swear box’ is in order, people seem to think a lot about their rank, so maybe deduct 2 posts for each ‘naughty outburst’.

(Stinger, before you point out that your time is already stretched, the last bit was a joke. I don’t think it is possible to solve this problem, we just have to grin and bear it, and hope that most are not offended).

Really, foul language just makes the speaker look low class, immature, and stupid. Such a person can
hurt a clan's image, and should be admonished by the clan leader. Only peer pressure can curtail this problem.
