SP going MP

Hi ive played the single player missions twice and ran the gambit and got bored afterwards. Ive played with some mods but they get boring real fast. I really do enjoy flight-sims and this baby on my 21inch sony rocks so im stuck for as long as this computer keep working... and that aint that bad

im looking for a decent server to play on and meet some like minded players. Im looking more for the experience and where it goes from there who knows.

p4 2.4 with 1bg ram and geforce mx 440 64ddr and cable connection, located in Rhode Island.

You could go to Proxima 24/7 or Elite, where most of the popular clans/players go. Although as you expected they have some of the more unpopular people in Freelancer as well, but they are still the best servers I think.

Or you could come to our own (RNs) server called Boston Freelancer Server, for a more quiet environment, where I'm sure some friendly RNs would help you with any questions or problems you have.

Thanks for the suggestions. Starting up a server was a thought, i didnt consider making one for the area though so thats a thought.

I blazed through a few servers tonight, found a few i think. sticking to the 24/7 ones anyways.

Griff, depart from your bubble. TLR is not the only place to meet people (Yes im talking about the servers too). Though its a good place!

3ncryptabl3_lick, Few things imported about server:
1. Ping, If your ping above 300 it will be pretty nasty to play
2. Population, Slots open AND slots used.
3. Stability, Most of the reasonable servers keep their server pretty stable.

Open server list, wait till fully loaded and arrange by ping. Now every server that have 30+ slots is good, but we also want to play with others so if this server is full or nearly full then this server is just for you.

After a while your not that n00b to MP try to join some clan. Clan wars are the only thing that really keeps FL alive.

Thanks moby. That all makes sense.

Q: what is TLR?
Q: is there a way to find out how many people play on a server vs the pop limit and logged in players?

I've been sticking to stable servers, though I have not had much experience playing on allot of them so I cant say I've picked the best ones. I have a cable connection so if its laggy or a another player logs in and drags down the server, I leave.

I've met decent people so far who just let me play and didn't make any effort to ruin my game-play. Rather, some tried to give me money and help me out but I've declined, because it is too early for me to find a home, just yet and I'd hate to waste opm.

Eventually, I'd love to join a clan. It is, afterall, why freelancer remains as alive as it is. The MP realm. If it werent for clans, I'm sure FL wouldn't have lasted as long as an MP game, mods aside. (sp)

If you are looking for server still try Born In The USA24/7. I keep things clean and tight. very good server with 2.53 gig and 1.24 gig DDR and have not had any lag unless someone tries to use mods. but then we ban them.We are a PVP and clans but discurage clans against players they have rights to. Are population is 200 plus accouts with 50 to 75 regulars and 3 to 8 on most times. We also have a police force to keep thinks that way and just started webpage.

The 1.1 sever patch address all mods but speed and things like sheilds and maps, but that is all they sould be able to use. We still catch them with spy ships and print screen options so as far as my server goes It is real clean. if u fly close to a moder u will no by lag and such so just look for that and if they move faster then good chance hey have mods. Do scan on ship and if no see sheild good chance usin uber which is a mod. best way to learn about mods is to test on a test server . That is where u can learn a lot.
