I got the 1.1 update installed it and it seemed to work fine but when I launched Freelancer the place in the bottem right corner were it says your curret version it still displays it mine as 1.0. there is also another thing when I try and get a list of multiplayer servers it wont get past "connecting to global sever" this might be due to the 1.0 thing so if anyones had the same problems and knows how to fix it email me
1.1 is a SERVER patch , not for clients , also if you would take the time to read the documentation is will say it will not change the version number , furthermore it says that you should only install it client side IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS CONNECTING or GETTING AN ID otherwise don't
So no that you throughly messed up your game all you can do is re-install the original and start anew (unless you are smart enough to backup your saved games)
It does help once in a while to read the documentation you know !!!

Do you play any other multiplayer games? Try going online with those and see how things work? I'm just wondering if perhaps you didn't do something besides install the patch (e.g. get a new firewall, virus scanner, etc.) that's really at the heart of the matter. If you can get on other games fine, then yeah, FL's probably messed up. If you can't get on others as well, then FL itself is probably fine and you need to find out what really went wrong.
your cdkey is on the box , but i assume you mean your online ID
Either use the 'Examine my account ID' menu choice in the Freelancer game setup or go through your registry and look for
My Computer\Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\1.0 and locate the variable Installkey
Time is too short to hate everybody , just hate a few
