Joining a faction

If I wanted to join a faction, let's say the DSE (Deep Space Engineering), what do I have to do? Take missions for them?

Actualy I have taken a dozen missions and I still don't have that flashy flikkering DSE reputation. Is there another way to join them?

Tell me first what server you play on?

because if it is Elite then I you cannot join a faction. The Elite server is not an RPG one, where as Frosty's is. (www.frost-works.com)

So the only way to become friendly with a faction is either to do missions for them, attack their enemies, or buy a bribe in bars.

Im pretty sure you mean NPF (Non-Playable Factions) ie not the multiplayer clans we have in the community. But if that is what you are talking about then head over to the clan pit and you will find a list of clans that play Freelancer.
