Cannot connect please help

Help! When i try to play a multiplayer game it says 'connecting to global server' and just stays there. I have broadband so there shouldnt be any problem with the speed should there!?. I have a firewall but even if i disable it i still cant connect.
I connect though a external bb modem which comes under 'network adapters' in the device manager. I have tried disabling my normal modem and the ethernet adapter to see if that helps but it doesnt. Any ideas?

sometimes the 'global server' is not available but other then that there are too many variables and too little information to help you , try if you can ping a server

here are a few 24/7 servers

Calgary 68.145.104.212
Elite 131.107.83.10
Jolt 195.149.21.31

If all else fails you can try a direct connect by adding the IP address to the freelancer startup and selecting LAN connect

Im sorry, but i dont understand. How do i ping a server or add it manually. I've tried whatever i can but with no luck so far
