Stinger I hope you will make good on this mistake. It is quite obvious that Trin did nothing to deserve banning.

when were actviely hunting cheaters/modders...this is the price that is paid to ferret them out. It was only a temp ban. Lighten up a little folks...it's a VERY rare instance when someone gets banned in error. And usually it's fixed before people come here to complain. Like this time around.

It takes time to make sure everything is right to ban the RIGHT people. Nature of keeping a server clean folks, gonna have to live with this. Sorry if it's a 5 - 30 minute inconvenience.

Thank you for putting right the ban its good to see prompt action taken, i did post right after the ban came on so can see your point there Stinger.
I was just a little shocked at the time, as burning the cargo seemed the only pro active option for that particular cheat besides rebooting the server.

Because of my own ignorance/stupidity/failure to read rules thoroughly/ decreased mental capacity owing to advcanced age, or whatever, I was permanently banned from Stinger's server a long time ago. I complained, naively not realizing what I had done, resulting in a long inane thread in which Stinger stated what I had done, (which I still didn't believe, and argued about).
After reading these forums, and playing MP, for many weeks, the truth finally soaked through, and I remembered dabbling with some mod from Lancer'sreactor. All that happened many weeks ago, and I have characters on at least 30 servers, so the dreaded banning was not the end of the world. I have distanced myself from all mods and modders/cheaters since then, and had a lot of fun in the bargain, so something positive did result. Just move on.

Actually there IS another proactive solution to the cargo spawning... here it is...

IF you can get EVERYONE in NY to dock, the cargo will disappear. We managed to do this once and it worked. It is a pain in the ass though, and took nearly 20 minutes to get everyone docked or out of the system.

i dont see you getting everyone to dock "im on a mission" "im hostile to ....base"
or just plain old "get lost "are the most likely responces from at least a few people maybe a message from console might achieve it but its a long shot

@ all my initial action was to try shooting the cargo, this appeared to have no affect ie it didnt kill the cargo. so i know that the default server setting for cargo loss on death is 100% (this can infact be changed serverside) but rarley is hence my actions, i also know of another that was banned he beamed in a diamond back sold it and went instantly to level 90, although he innocently thought someone had dropped it for another to beam in during a trade, he realised something was wrong when he sold it and his credits jumped to all the 9's i explained to him the best i could that under the circumstances the ban is likley to remain in place, and he accepts that, (no small thing) altho he did say so "why not delete that character i didnt know when i beamed it in what it was"
He went on to explain he thought it was a high level player just killing cargo for noobs (something higher level players do a lot of)
Do i beleive him? yes in this case i did as i know the person personaly not just on the internet.
The point im trying to make here is that those responsible for spawning of the cargo and the other dumb rubbish they do are acheiving their aim, which i presume from in game system chat is to kill the server.
How many people were banned last night, i wonder?.
Its a very difficult situation for admin in these scenarios that i will grant, but also be carefull your not actualy doing exactly what those idiots want, ie creating bad feeling amongst the *players you would prefer on your servers*. ie non cheaters.
However in this case it backfired for them, i now have more trust and confidence in the Elite Admin than i could have had previously.
