I dont think that is a mod just a beta version or something. It looks like part StarLancer part FreeLancer.

It would be cool to have that radar though.

I believe that's how they originally wanted to make the game... they really changed a lot in time...

I've heard once that, originally, the Defender would have an upper wing, wich could slide in and out (don't ask me why lol), and you could select a few manouvers wich the computer would then commence so you could concentrate on blasting the "bad guys" only, or disable autopilot and pilot yourself...

Well, that's what I heard atleast...

"In one dimension, I find existence. In two I find life, but in three, I find freedom..."

Food for thought: maybe the code for this prerelease GUI is still in there. A lot of final version games contain throwbacks to their earlier versions, sometimes even full-blown interfaces that you can re-introduce just by changing a setting. I wonder...could the code still be there (for things like that KICK-ARSE radar display!) and could it be re-activated?

BTW: just a little interesting thing I discovered: Tau 23's 'Tau 37 Jump Hole' has a black hole image behind it...and Omicron Alpha's 'Tau 37 Jump Hole' ALSO has a black hole image behind it. Could Tau 37 once have been that system we have seen in prerelease screenies with the huge black hole at the center?

It certainly would explain why the developers made Tau 37 such a bright and jawdroppingly beautiful system
