Always Sided with Navy?

I noticed that no matter how friendly I become w/ another faction (like Junkers for example) my player is always seen by others as " Navy - SentrySteve" instread of " Junkers - SentrySteve" and I've noticed that on my Rep. screen "Libtery Navy" is blinking - I assume this is blinking is why I am a part of the navy and not a part of the junkers. ( I just assumed that the your most freinldly faction is the one that shows up next to your name) Anyone know how to change this?

All you have to do to get rid of that Navy sign is to kill a couple Navy ships

To have a Junkers (or any other) ID you need to have a hostile / friendly rep chart that matches theirs, from what I hear.

As far as I can tell its impossible to gain any faction tag once you lose the navy one. Having taken too many missions for the corsairs and made them as happy as theyll ever be I think I can garuntee that.

how on earth did you get a nomad tag ??????????

Post Tue Aug 12, 2003 10:24 am

you ARE able to join another faction after you left the navy. seen lots of players with different tags. you can even join some of the house corporations! its not (only) related with reputation. im fully green to almost all of the pirate groups, all house police and navy hate me to death and still no official member of any pirates. a friend told me (he said its written on M$'s Fl-page, but i didnt go there and read it by myself so im NOT SURE about this one) it has also to do with the ship and equipment you have. there have been some threads where people tested it and they wrote it sometimes changed for no reason when they enterd another system so this whole thing about tags may just contain a big bug and thats why noone really knows whats going on with those tags. (sorry for my crap english )

Its impossible to get a nomad w/o a mod, they are not a faction

Not a mod, just a lag induced bug.

It IS possible to become a member of another faction, but it is very hard to do and very few people manage to accomplish it. I have surveyed over 5000 characters, looking at which factions they are a member of. Here are the results:
<pre><font size=1 face=Courier>
2827 none
2327 Navy
2 LSF
1 Corsair
</font></pre>
I don't know if these are legit or hacks, but an extremely detailed explanation on how it do it can be found in this Spoiler.

If they are hacks i woulsnt mind doing it, i mean its not herting anyone, and it would be cool to fly around as an outcast or sumthing

I've seen a bunch of People on Browclops with other tags, but Browclops is down now.

You're not supposed to join with anyone, you're supposed to be a freelancer.
