I cant get on a server?

im having trouble getting on any server. i have the 1.1 microsoft patch but i keep getting the "operation took longer than normal press esc.." no matter what server i choose!

I get that either when the server has crashed or when it has Maj0r L@@G! Sorry I know that this word------------------------------------------------^^ is painful.

The problem was....
I wasnt running directx 9.0! The game ran fine off line but as soon as i upgraded to dx9 i connected to a server right away! i posted again to help anybody else with this problem.

Looking for a good server now, is there ship wrecks in multiplayer? this looks like it could be fun!
