Rate my gun layout

Rite now i have these guns on my sabre:

2 tizona del cids
4 nomad cannons
skyblast b turret

Is this good for PVP? i was wondering if this would do more damage and kill faster if i use this on the sabre:

2 tizona del cids
2 diamondbacks
2 nomad cannons
skyblast b turret

Also please give me suggestions for other gun layouts and give me reasons and stats.

Thx for helpin a n00b.

Just go with the same as every other dipstick in a VHF.

Why argue about gun layouts when there is really only a few "best" ones. Pick your favourite and use it.

There both good loadouts, just depends how well you and your opponents fly.

But if you get in to a circle battle with a Eagle then I'd change one TDC for a skyblast as your NC's won't hit in a tight turn, but if most of your fights are the Headon type then stick with either of those loadouts as quick shield killing and hull damage are more important

I don't give advice about how to play, so all of this is my opinion, and nothing more...
1) If you use weapons of different speed (nomads and skyblast for example), then the one your eyes see easier is the one you're going to aim with, and this may render your other gun(s) less useful (in either case you're going to hit with one type or the other, not both at the same time, unless they are heading straight for you, or standing still).
2) The sabre's advantage over the other VHF's is its front facing turret, If you're facing an eagle, its shields are what you want to get down asap, and so you should stick a shield killing gun on the turret (rapier turret lvl 8), if you're facing a Titan, then you want to get its hull down faster, so stick on a salamanca turret -lvl 9 (fires same speed as nomad weapons - unless you know something that does more hull damage at the same speed?).
3) Nomad weapons do the highest amount of damage per second, above ALL of the other level 10 guns in the game. Unless you want some pretty effects, dump any other lvl10 weapons.
4) Missiles, torpedos and mines can be used very effectively against most players, but if your target is expecting them to be used, then they can be very easy to dodge/evade too.
5) But the most important aspect is - knowing your ship and its limitations, knowing your target, and its strengths & weaknesses.

And since you're in a sabre, don't run in circles with an eagle, unless you are trying to deceive them with another tactic.

Im going to give the gun loadout a 8 out of 10. The skyblast on a saber is bound to mess up your shooting (leading the target will be hell), and I would probably take 2 blasters and 2 cannons for an offset in firing timing, but that's heavily debatable, and it could be argued both ways. Overall a pretty good package though.

That being said though, I would probably go with Twex's advice. He's the most skilled Saber pilot I've met on any server thus far, although I've met a few eagles that might give him a good run. His game is 50% psychological though, so beware if you ever face him :p

the first loadout = 10 out of 10
all you need now is to put it on an eagle lol
seriously though there are a lot of right wep combos
but the wrong ones usually include l10 guns from wrecks

The loadout you have Radiation (close enough to whatever you call yourself) is what I have in my Eagle. I do guns-only PvP (plus missions if I feel like it, I don't need the money as I don't spend any with guns-only) and it works for me. Others PKing use torps and missles in place of both TDCs and/or cannons. The turret in the Eagle may get one shot on target in every 20 shots. Not really a factor in PvP.

As most people have said one way or another, it depends on how you play and what you play against.

When I leveled up (oh so many moons ago) I would mix and match gun types to cover, even a little bit, the three different types of shields. While we know what type of shield the lvl 10 shield is (positron) we don't know what type either one of the nomad guns are. For that matter are all the lvl 10 special guns listing their types? I don't think so. I wonder if someone can figure them out. Kind of moot as there is only one level 10 shield available anyway (obviously I refer to unmodded SP/MP play).

For me, I use 2 Nomad Energy Cannons, 2 WILD FIRES (the wreck weapons), and I think they were Skyblast B's, and a wyrm 2 turret. I fly a Titan, and this proves to be a good combo for me in most situations. Plus, I think the nomads are generalized in what shields they ar emore good against. Either way, a head-on isn't a good idea against most ships....

hmmm. I am new to VHF flying, as my clan just repealed our 'no vhf' rule to keep us competitive with others. Here is the loadout I have...

2 Kraken 2's
3 nomad blasters
1 nomad cannon
turret? I fly an eagle and don't really care.

Here is the loadout I am going for eventually...

1 salamanca
1 tizona del cid
3 nomad blasters
1 Silver Fire or Diamondback

I have noticed many mount their guns in pairs, which can be a waste when you are wasting 2 mounts on shield killers, or 2 mounts on slow firing cannons or specials. The nomad blaster seems the best overall reliable gun to me, but I would like a single heavy cannon for taking out large chunks of hull, and a single Tizona to help with shields without over-balancing my setup either way.

Using missiles seems a waste, but I have seen them used to good effect before, so perhaps this would be a nice setup...

2 nomad blasters
1 tizona del cid
1 nomad cannon or special
1 cannonball missile
1 sunstalker missile

Missiles of different speeds won't bump into each other, and with 2 different kinds you can carry 100 missiles. Perhaps 2 Tizonas would be better, but I don't like being helpless against a good missile-dodger.

I have also tried using all standard guns, but usually end up being out-gunned. Skyblast B on the wide points and Kraken 2's in the nose points will balance out the 50m/s difference in velocity, and makes for a great setup vs. AI pilots, but not damaging enough for PvP. Smart use of ripper or screamer mines can offset this difference, but like as not your opponent will have them on his nomad-laden ship too. Also standard guns chew up your power supply pretty quick, especially skyblasts.

K. my coffee is gone.. I'm outta here.

Kinda OCD but I use my weapons in airs 2x Wyrm Type 2
2xDIAMONDBACK
2xNomad Cannon
but I wanna try either
all nomads and 1 cid and 1 kraken type 2
or 4 nomads and two skyblast b's

You will absolutely need 2 Tizona del Cids, well, that's my taste, but you need to take out sheilds ASAP during a duel and the Sunslayer takes care of the rest. Now, Diamondbacks (Or Diamondheads as some people say whatever ), I am not fond of. As for the turret, if you want to replace one tizona del cid for a rapier sheild buster turret, that is an almost equal equivilant (i.e. Del Cid: 1150 Dmg, Rapier 890 dmg, eh good enough ) and you can replace the del cid with say, a Kraken Mk 2 for more anti hull busting capabilities as well.
