Well I too have been shot just outside Manhattan. It was by a guy in one of those little crafts. I did not return fire since I was in a saber at the time and the guy wasn't really doing any damage. I did report it to the on duty {AR} rep and he took care of it. I think the {AR} do a good job at keeping the order on the Argonus server. Corse they can't be everywhere at once. I have been hi jacked outside liberty space several times. Have allso been pot shot in the back while docking. I allmost allways travel with one or two other people so in case I get jumped by somone they have to deal with at least two of us. Anymore I try to keep track of any player that is in or close to the area I am in. Also I normally hail anyone I come across to let them know I'm in the game to explore and not after their goods or demand money form them. Mostly everyone on Argonus are great people and leave you alone. You have a few exceptions in that there are a few that deman money from you or they will destroy you. I guess it is supposed to make the game more fun.... at least for them.... I find it to be a pain and really makes the game and the server loose some of it's apeal... I've been bullied all my life and don't really care for any more of it... even if it is a game.... I guess I haven't grapsed the idea that maby they are just "role playing"... Sometimes that could be fun if you want to role play.... sometimes I may not want to role play but I have this **** demanding money from me... the only recorse is to give into the deman or fight.....I for one will allways choose to fight...

Heh...heh...got tackled by some fool in California *sigh* he wasn't all that good, I was evasive as soon as I started getting hit, and he didn't even get me as I was typing...oh well at least he let up eventually, although he did try to make up some excuses as to why he should keep getting me, and in the end he threatened me, he even threw some profanity in...oh well, ignorant fools, I mean I was flying a Defender at level 8 he was flying...something better...at level 13 *sigh* didn't report him cuz he didn't "kill" me and he did listen when I pointed out to him that it was still Liberty Space, just some low leveler so low that he has to pick on lower levelers...heh I was even swamped by Rogues at the time...

Heeh, looking at your posting again I don't hink I even started to adress your question regarding weppon load out. I would sugest that you get into a VHF class ship. The Eagle seams to be the pick of most PVP pilots do to its ability to hold class 10 weppons and its agility. The saber has the ability to use it's turret as an extra forward facing gun, The Titan has all that armor and nano/battey power. As far as weppons you will want to get class 9 and 10 weppons on it asap. The nomad class 10 weppons are a good start as they are easy to get ( you have to know how to do it ) The outcasts, corsairs, and the GMG have good class 9 weppons. After you get your wepons then the best thing to do to get good enough to win when you get sucker punched is to ask diff people to do a PVP with you. Learn from your mistakes and find what ship, weppons, and tatics best fit your style. It is then and only then you will be at the point when somone demands you to GIVE THEM MONEY or dock sshooting, that you can at least show him that you are no easy pray and just maby they will leave you the heck alone so you can enjoy the game and not allways have to be watching out for the ****s.

Thanks Atholl, that is what I am doing now. I am in trading mode with a Humpback trying to earn the money to get a Sabre. I'm kinda avoiding the more player populated areas as much as possible to lessen the risk of robbery. Hehe, this buffalo I'm driving doesn't turn very fast.
I used to play the original Elite on a C64 and this is the whole Elite concept, fleshed out and populated with real people in 3D glory! Maybe we can hook up on the server sometime cause I too, am in it for the exploration (and maybe to kill some NPC's every once in a while). But I respect the whole PvP thing, without it - you may as well play the SP game. It does add an edge to every encounter.

Nice to see that people enjoy our help and the server....keep playing guys

Yeah eventhough theres no PVP in the New York system.. People do it anyways.. they take advantage of it.. its sad.
