No lies, NEO camps. and fun with newbies

There have been a few people, like Sputnik66 who think we're lying about NEO camping. Let me just say this: I never had a problem with YOU or anyone on your pathetic squad(ron). I never even heard of NEO before I took notice of Dock camping. I am fairly new to Elite, having played about 20 hours over the past month. I first ran into the dock camping phenomenon near Malta where one guy kept blasting the other from behind the docking ring. They weren't NEO players, I dont think, but could have been. Regardless of who they were, I thought that was pretty lame..

From henceforth, I kept myself aware of this, hoping it never happened to me. I plotted my trade runs and my exploration AROUND systems where people were congregating. I used the chat feature as a sort of "radar," effectively allowing me to avoid trouble. I am a level 20something, and probably ripe for the picking from people like you and your squad.

Anyway, back to my point.. Many of us are sick and tired of you... and your dock camping antics. Yes, I was being camped at magellan by one of the NEOs. No, i've never been camp killed before. You suggest lies.. I ask why? I have no reason to lie. I have every reason to complain. I just wanted to toss my 2 cents in along with others because I see this as a growing problem.

Yes, it also sucks.. avoiding dock-campers by logging off.. and not being able to relog. I hate waiting forever just to connect... while stupid idiots like Sputnik dock kill people for crap eating grins.

Do I care if I'm on your hit list? No. Will I shoot at you if i see you? No. If you are NEOfied, maybe. But you know.. I'd rather just play this game and explore... I prefer getting a group of friends together and trading/charting new systems/doing missions.

Something I've done lately, that's a lot of fun... is giving newbies my own made-up missions.. whether it's trading or flying waypoints.. and then giving them gobs of money upon completion. This really adds a new dimension of play, making this game more of a freelancing kind of atmosphere than before. For example, I recently took a new player with me from Manhattan to Tau-29 as an "escort", and paid him, purchased new ships and equipment for him, and taught him a few tricks on the way. He went from level 1 to level 12 during this run which took about 30-45 minutes. Did I earn any cash for it ? nO. I was carrying cargo in my freighter, and was able to reimburse myself with the trade from that. Did I do this selfishly ? nah, I did it because I enjoy helping people. I like to make this game fun for myself and others. Here's an idea for some of you: making friends with the noobs will ensure your survival in the future, if some day this noob becomes an evil pirate.. he will remember you and spare your life. Playing nice helps secure your life down the line as well..

Well, I always avoid the omni systems, i really have no use for them, I get weapons and such from an outside source so i never get out there much. and i don't really fell like getting outnumbered.

diffrent ppl play the game differently, some like to help ppl, some, like to be bullys (see my post under FL players are the most intolerant by XiXor) for the bully explaintion

i just have a lotta char on each server. if i get in touble, i just switch and play on. that way i avoid all the useless hasslement.

Also there are other servers out there.

I have never played on Elite so I won't pretend to know what goes on there but I do read all the posts here and I have not met 1 person outside of the NEO clan that liked NEO. It seems to be a given that NEO is a terrorist clan who dockrape unsuspecting noobs. From what I gather, most everyone hates them. Must be quite a clan you NEO guys have to get such a reputation where you're hated so much!

YOU LIKE THE NEO CLAN??? No wonder the Elite server sucks, and the complaints keep rolling in. You might as well forget all your efforts to stop dock camping, you just (deleted for profanity) sponsored that act. You support NEO, you support dock raping. They are the biggest bully clan in all of Freelancer and you must be incredibly BLIND not to see it you stupid {deleted for profanity).

FA/Hornet, this is your offical warning to cease and desist with the profanity. You're veiled attempt at changing a letter here and there doesn't take away from your intent . This is a family oriented site and that sort of filth is clearly not allowed on this web site. Stop with the gutter language now and remain an active member of this site. Ignore this warning and find yourself on the outside looking in forever.

It is your choice.

For the record steps are being taken to greatly reduce the dock camping by all clans/independants. Our proactive stance as Admins of Elite is the direct results of the community not being able to work this issue out on it's own in another closed thread on this site.

Ugh! Neo's coo, you pay them their money, n they stop shooting, you get camped by neo because you pissed em off. Not saying that dockrapings a good thing, I think it should stop, but bitching about a scapegoat (possibly in this case NEO) wont get you anywhere, bitch about dock camping!

well, what are you doing about the NEO clan that chases people off the server if they don't pay their ridiculous tolls? (2 million credits?) You call this "family oriented?" Then why do you let NEO push people around like they own the server? You say they don't but they sure think they do. Look at me, i quit playing there cuz of them. Do something about this bully clan and get them off the server, or at least bust them back to level 1. you admins have yet to do one thing about all the complaints against NEO. And yes, there have been unbelievable amounts of complaints against them. Saying you like them only condones their bullying tactics and encourages them to do it more.

btw, ban me if you please. it'll only prove my point that you no different than the NEO bully gang. If you like em so much, just ban me and prove to everyone in the community that you prefer bullies on your server than honest players.

and one last thing.... get the name right. F/A-18 Hornet.

Maybe some solid rules agaist such activities?

KoN has such rules but we'd prefer that people act with maturity. But if not the rule is there and violations will get you banned. Of course proof is needed but it's not that hard to get a screen shot.

I've never been on Elite (it's either full + I read this stuff and go elsewhere) but with so many people prefering to play on it I think some solid rules would be in order.

I like neo too. they arent bad ppl...i never got tolled or dock camped etc... guess it depends on how u approach them

Firstly.. why pay the NEO clan money to stop dock raping? That's like paying terrorists bribe money.

Secondly.. I did nothing to piss off anyone on the NEO clan. I didn't even know who they were.. until i was targeted for a dock raping assault by Tasiin(?)

I'm going to forget all this crap and go play. I hope I don't have to spend any time complaining about the lameness anymore.

EDIT: And for the record..

YOU GUYS RUN AN AWESOME SERVER. The lag is low... the server is reliable.. and the playerbase is decent (minus the dock raping imbeciles).

Thanks for hosting such a nice place. I encourage you to do what it takes to keep it playable.

I like NEO. They came to my rescue once when I got dock raped by someone.

And Hornet remember you have killed other players for no reason at all. Just because you wanted to. So you don’t have a right to complain. So please just move along
