I have read quite a few posts in the last few days ranting and raving about the injustice of being killed by another player on the Elite server. While this post is not intended to resurrect any specific issue, the various discussions I have read and my experience on Elite have given me an opinion on this subject that I would like to share.

Read it or not, as you wish.

*rant mode on*

1. I reserve the right to be safe in Liberty, and to report those who violate that right to the Admin.

2. I do not reserve the right to be safe anywhere else, regardless of my level or anyone else's.

3. If I am killed in a particularly annoying but legal manner, I reserve the right to grumble about it to anyone who will listen.

4. I do not reserve the right for my grumbling to have any effect whatsoever, let alone a positive one.

5. I reserve the right to do anything in my power to circumvent or pierce a blockade.

6. I do not reserve the right to escape the consequences of failing in the attempt.

7. I reserve the right to fight or flee as I choose. (Run away! Run away!)

8. I do not reserve the right to be immune to pursuit.

9. I reserve the right to use cheap tactics and dirty tricks to defend myself.

10. I DO NOT RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CHEAT.

11. I reserve the right to fly around and randomly annoy any faction I choose.

12. I do not reserve the right to avoid being fragged for doing something so stupid.

13. I reserve the right to defend myself against those who attack me, defy those who threaten me, and seek vengeance against those who persecute me.

14. I do not reserve the right to succeed at any of the above.

15. If my beliefs conflict irreconcilably with that of the Admin, I reserve the right to go make my own server.
