Nope.... mainly because I don't dig clans, but secondly because you couldn't hope to protect players, only avenge them - first time you go after a PKer from another clan it'll just descend into another clan war. Fine if you're into that kinda thing, but it'll be no better than any other clan.

Think Ryder got a point there:

First of all: it seem to be quite difficult to really protect a single ship from others (without being like 10 defenders for 1 protected). Then just like Ryder said, once the protected, is dead, what will you do? Avenge him and become a PKer also, or do nothing and the whole protecting thing become pointless...??

Finally how would it be decided who should be protected and who should be not...?

Well, I found the idea very good, and to reply I would say that I would take part in that kind of action; but i also think the idea must be diggered before application, just to make it worth.

No, I wouldn't join a clan 2 do that. I would just do it by myself most of the time as then I could do a bit of pirating every so often

No i wouldnt join a clan like that. Now if the clans purpose was to help protect the new people in manhattan from getting slaughtered by lamers, then I might join. otherwise, no.
