I like the titan for its armor

Not to be mean but... Why are there so many threads about "whats the best ship in the game"?

Don't you wanna search others threads about best threads first??

titan - best armor
sabre - more offensive (forward fire turret)
eagle - most agile

I like the eagle because its agile, but doesnt eagle have a forward firing turret?

Nope. Eagles turret fires backward only.
My advice is to try out all the ships and see what one works best for you. What ship is the best really depends on your playing style. I personally dont use any of the 3. Hammerhead is the ship for me. It has very concentrated fire, so if you get lined up exactly right with a person, you can blow em outa the sky in a few shots (Depending on the guns you are using.) Another factor in considering your ship, is the weapons you use. Every ship has a different power core. If I rmemeber correctly, the Titan has the highest and the Sabre and Eagle are about the same. SO if you are using high enrgy weapons, it may be best to go with the Titan. My advice: Try them all and see which one works the best for you.

If u use nomad weaps energy isnt a problem.

I wondered about this question from the first day I bought the game. I always assumed the Titan would be the best. I finally got myself one of each in single player and I have a save game for each one. The best test for me was a Corsair mission in each one. The only time I ever hear Bitchin’ Betty say “Shield Failure” is in the Titan or Sabre. I attribute this to my flying style in each one. The Sabre and the Titan just don’t turn very well, so it is easier for the enemy to get on your tail, stay on it, and soak you until your shields drop. In the Eagle nothing much can hurt me because it moves so well. A skilled pilot in any of the three would have little trouble against the NPC’s even with overwhelming odds. In the end I decided the Eagle was the way to go for me. I have Nomad cannons and blasters, two of each, mounted in the level ten slots. And a del Cid of course. Anything else is just decoration really. I never use missiles, mines, torps, or counter measures for that matter.

Ive allways liked the best turners, and i also like smaller ships. I think that someone should come out with a mod that adds new stats to ships. Some of these could include turn rate, size, top speed with thruster(because some ships cant get to 200, like the mule), and maybe even weapon placement. This would make the game a lot better because i wouldnt have to try all the ships before i kept one. btw my favorite ship for its level is the drake because its extremely small and speedy.

as the game states the titan is the one having one my self i agree

I prefer the sabre - its an all rounder.

As someone else has already said there is no "best" ship. The three level 10 VHFs in the game have different characteristics and suite different flying styles.

I prefer the Eagle for it's manouverability with the Sabre a close second, for it's improved armour and increased firepower due to it's forward-firing turret. Titan is the most powerful, having the strongest hull and best power (though this is irrelevant if you're packing Nomad weapons), but I don't like it because it flies like a crate!

Some people even prefer the Barracuda, Centurion or others and I've seen players in these ships PK level 38ers in Titans!
