Problem connecting

I was playing at my friend's place, or rather was TRYING to play at his place. I could connect to the global server and the list of servers did appear, but all the ping values were replaced by "????" and it was telling me none of the servers had any players on them. When I tried connected it would just give me this "it is taking longer than expected" box followed by the box telling me there is a network problem. I'm never seen this before, any help appreciated.

And the other thing is, I couldn't make a short cut that works. This is what I had for the short cut:

"C:\Program Files\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -s66.233.148.63:2302

The IP address is definitely correct, but the shortcut would only starts the game normally in the main screen. Why is that?

Problem solved! It happened that the guy set up a freelancer server on an internal computer the night before, and the computer I was using was the NAT server with port mapping set up to relay anything to do with freelancer to the server computer. So, as I was frantically trying ping the internet servers the computer I was using happily ignored all the replies and promptly chucked them away to the other computer!
