I have all but given up for now. My ping to the Elite server is 120, which is not great by any means, but certainly playable. And I base that on game play on other servers with simular pings. Less than 100 would be nice but I don't think it is the problem because I have never seen it lower than it is now. I can get maybe a few minutes of smooth play before the lag hits. I rebooted my machine and let the modem reInitialize with no benefit. There seems to be at least some correlation with the lag and the recent storms that passed through the Midwest and southeastern states. A node somewhere may have been affected.

I tried the DA server and it was just as bad, and everyone was getting it. I tested my connection speed and it was 797.7 kbps, which should be fast enough I would think. The DA server ping was 98 and there were almost 40 players. Might be just me.

I wouldn't count on those cheating messages being actual cheating all the time. A friend of mine loses connection due to lag, and it gives the message that he's cheating. I have lost connection due to lag and he tells me it says I was cheating. Neither of us cheat! So it's not always cheaters, sometimes it's just people going linkdead.

Otherwise, yeah it's been laggy lately.

There is a DA server? Never saw anything in server list that looked official.

Elite has never really been laggy for me. my pings are normally around the same as hollidays, but i live in the UK, so i guess it must be a router issue somewhere in the states. hopefully it'll be sorted soon...

Sounds like they got a number of things yet to be worked out on that patch their testing. I've noticed the LAG problem too and you never can tell when it'll happen. My friends and I were engaged with 5 Dragons last night when it hit and they started bouncing all over the sky like flies on meth! We couldnt hit a one of them until the lag subsided. It was pretty sad. It's hard to tell when it's gonna hit because i've seen it lag down with less than 30 people and with the server full. I hope they are able to figure it out soon.

Well I am glad it's not just me. I was in a fight and the lag was so bad I couldn't see the enemy. I could see my sheilds were getting hit, but no fighters.
