but... nothing happens and then it just freezes up and locks! $#@%@!

any ideas? I am not running a firewall. anyone else have this happen?

also I play lots of games online and have a pretty good computer...

waaahhh I wanna play multiplayer!

2 things.

What type of internet connection do you have?

and

Are you clicking on LAN or INTERNET when you go into MP after accepting the stupid agreement that comes up every time you click on MP?

Other than that, I personally have no idea....

I have never once been able to connect to the list server either... the only way i've been able to see servers is by manually adding them to the command line. maybe its something to do with the [ListServer section of freelancer.ini... mine looks like this:

<pre><font size=1 face=Courier>[ListServer
;;;hostname = localhost ;Your local machine
hostname = FLListServer2.dns.corp.microsoft.com ;GUN server in Austin
;;;hostname = 131.107.135.190 ;GUN server in Redmond
;;;hostname = fllistserver.zone.msn.com ;GUN server in Redmond (DNS entry) </font></pre>

hostname = fllistserver.zone.msn.com ;GUN server in Redmond (DNS entry) this need to be the host the other are nothing dead
[ListServer

;;;hostname = FLListServer2.dns.corp.microsoft.com ;GUN server in Austin
;;;hostname = 131.107.135.190 ;GUN server in Redmond

that is unaltered and straight from copy/paste from my ini file??

but i still cant connect...? I have a cable modem and play many online games so this is really confusing me... when i go click on multi then click okay to the disclaimer, it just goes to the server list screen sits a min then in the upper right it switches to "connecting to global server..." but nothing happens execpt a "game freeze"

man this is killing me! still cant figure it out. 3 to 4 more hours of trying tonight....

AAARRGGHH!!!!

Well, Click the da*n Internet Button instead of the LAN..
A LAN is: Local Area Network, as u can see its LOCAL!!! your computer and the rest on the same router.
Internet is the same as a WAN, Wide Area Network. A WAN is a gigantic network, as the internet is.

SO, press the Internet button instead of the LAN button. Problem solved..
