MP questions form a n00b

Ok I read a ton about FreeLancer when it was first anounched all that time ago then I forgot about it now i am back and want to get it just as soon as I get paid. Ok I have a few questions.

When you die in MP do you lose all you things levels and such
Dose every just fly around fighting each other
Are there problems with people who take cheap shoots at you and steel your things

Teamwork is needed in all games it gives the them someone else to shoot at.

When you die in MP...Whatever you have mounted on your craft is not lost. Anything not mounted, such as cargo or extra weapons, is lost.

Fly around and kill each other is one thing you can do. You can also trade, explore, be a pirate, be a bounty hunter...Lots of things, lots of options.

The "Cheap Shot" thing is something we call PK (Player Kill). On some servers, Elite, --Argonus-- (mine) and some others, you cannot PK in certain areas...Well..You aren't allowed to...You can do it...but it's against the rules. That is something we have to police ourselves for now.

Hope that answers your questions.

Something Awful

Ok that helps but i was woundering if there is a problem also with super highj level players just whoopin up on a lowwer level players. Doing it in such a way that they can not level up.

Teamwork is needed in all games it gives the them someone else to shoot at.

For the most part the higher level players have the tact and decency not to attack people too many levels below them, but in the occasion that there is somebody around who does want to, your best bets are to either stay in Liberty where they aren't allowed to kill you, or hire an escort service such as my own, the RES, you'll see a topic about us in this forum, just look for it.

Ok that sounds good. What about how many people who will play at the same time. Is there like 100s of people on a server or is it filled with Computer controled people and just a few Real people

There are a maximum number of real people that can be online at the same time.

It's set by the server admin...

For instance...Elite is running a max of 30 people.

Mine (--Argonus--) is currently running 40...I am still testing that...I've had 29 on at once...and no complaints of major lag. So it may change.

Other servers have different numbers.

The "world" is populated mostly by AI pilots...But you can tell the difference.

A PC will have a head next to thier name, and will always show up on the "!" target menu (Important)
