Problem with compo crashing with server

I'm trying to run a server on my computer, and when I'm playing on it, my computer suddenly decides to restart. It doesn't shut down windows, it just blacks out, and then starts itself over. My specs are:

Intel Motherboard
Intel Pentium IV 1.80GHz Processor
256mb DDRAM
ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb Graphics card
Built in soundcard
11mbps cable modem w/ router.

Can you help out a newbie?

your trying to run a server and game on it at the same time? first thing i could say is isolate it, see if it crashes if you just play the game. or if you just run dedicated.

just try to remember your having your computer work on 2 completely seperate aplications pretty hard if your doing that. never works well with any modern game.

Doesn't crash with just the server. I don't think the game crashes it either (mp). When it crashes, it saves everything in the server (forgot to mention this) and when I start up the server again, I'm usually in the middle of open space or the middle of a battle (where I left off)
