TPB is most likely up and running. What is going on is there seems to be a problem with a major router between you and the server. If you look you see that the server seems to be up a few minutes and down a few minutes, then back up again. NS1.NETWORKTEL.NET (Actually owned by Tucows) has been locking up a lot over the last week and TPB sits on the other side of that unit.

I've chatted with the TPB admin about this and there is really nothing he can do about it. I've also alerted Tucows to their hub acting up, but so far, nothing.

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is wait for tucows to fix their problem.

If you use a Trace utility you can see in advance weather you will be able to log on to TPB. If not, your route will end at the above addy, if so, you'll get 6 more hops before it ends at the FL server. ATM, I cannot get to TPB.

yah i just tried again and its a no go. hope it gets corrected soon, and thank you for that valuable info. i was really wondering what was going on.

i really like that server and have a high-level ship there and it pings very low for me and my dial-up. i guess, lemme know if you hear anything...
thanks!

Just use the fldirectip.hta and type in the IP of the TBP server (128.186.141.13)
It is alive and kicking but it just dont show on the list, you have to use the DirectIP to get it on the list,I know i do.

wait...so how do you direct connect to it?

its pretty much the only server i play on, and i miss my eagle alot

alright i hope this dont get posted multiple times i'm having difficulties. here's the short and sweet version.

right-click on your shortcut (that you click to play the game) and go to properties.
then under shortcut and Target...make sure it looks like this:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -s128.186.141.13:2302

it has to be just like that (unless your path and filename are different). but make sure you add that "s" and IP number at the end. then you'll see the server first thing when you start the game and click multiplayer.

For everyone that hasn´t got the TBP server on the global list:
You don´t have to change the shortcut to direct connect, just go into the EXE folder located in the games folder, look for a file called "fldirectip.hta" and doubleclick it,a menu pops up and you can write an IP adress in it.
TBPs IP adress is 128.186.141.13 type that in and hit the "Add server" button after that hit the "Launch Freelancer" button, now when the game starts up just go to Multiplayer and the first server to show up should be the TBP.

thanks for the help guys...

anyways i've been playing on it for a few days now and its all been fine. but today i was playing and all of a sudden i got the generic its taking longer than expected blah blah blah message. i'm guessing server crashed, which is a pitty because i really enjoyed flying around in my eagle.

Last night the TBP server crashed and haven´t been up again, but don´t be alarmed it will return within days, the reason for the delay is unknown, but it could be because of the router probs or because of the implementation or testing of their selfmade mod...who knows (crosses fingers).
Anyways, just keep up the good mood im sure it will return in a few days.
