I cannot even join any Freelancer Servers, i cant even join

ok every time i try to have a lan game going in freelancer it says

leasewait. The requested operation is taking longer than expected. Press the ESC key to cancel." Then it says" I'm sorry, but the connection could not be estavlished bla bla." My connection is good wtf is goin on, I cant even join my own server on my computer. Someone PLEASE HELP!!!

i get same thing.
used to work but not anymore.
i tried reinstalling several times.
also tried rolling back my drivers to 41.09 form 43.45.
no luck, i turned off the firewall and all.
anyone have any idea?

I knew someone who couldn't connect to any MP servers, it was because they hadn't installed Direct x 9. Apparently SP works with older DX versions, but not MP.
