Help with Hosting a server, Details within

Hi all
me and a mate have tryed hosting servers on our PC's
i have a router but have fixed all the ports needed
each of us has hosted the first time and everythign worked - ppl joined we ourselfs joined the server and all was happy, but now we host and nothing works, no one can join and we cant join ourselfs into the server.
the server DOES show up on the list but it just dont let anyone join.

anyone have any ideas as to WHY this happens?

-Your ISP found out an dblocked the ports?
-You did specifiy this port to here that port to there?

thx for the reply but,
1. why would my ISP block the ports, and do the same to my mate after hosting once (my mate lives in diff house and diff conx and diff ISP)

2. yes i have fixed all the ports needed and forward them to my machine, 2300-2400 and the 40000-40200 thats what i could find

keep in mind it WORKED fine the first time, but after the first time it dont work

Just a thought...

Port forwarding rules (tcp/udp) normally get deleted after reconnecting to the web, as they are IP based. So if you get a dynamic IP assigned to you on every connect, then you may have to reassign the port forwarding.

JaaBaa
thx for the reply but that will not work,

i use a D-Link router and have set up all the ports on its "virtual server" and have forwarded them all to my computer, and my mate has a direct connection
also my IP has not changed for a few months now.

Anyone else have any ideas? im kinda thinking that its a bug with the server application

i'll try a reinstall sooner or later and let ya know if that helps
