Joining factions?

Since the game is GAY and slaps you with the navy right at the beginning, this proves difficult.

I know someone who became Bowex sheerly thru trading. I know someone that became Bounty Hunter despite doing tons of Corsair missions simply because he shot all junkers and xenos on sight, and eventually became a Bounty Hunter.

Yet I can't become an outcast.

My main char. is level 38 in a Sabre. I did 3 navy missions at Manhattan at the start. All the rest I've done since were Outcast. Yet I'm not an outcast. I kill all their enemys in GREAT amounts too.

So I started a new guy. First thing I did upon launching from Manhattan? Killed some cops, pirated some loot. Hell, I took on 6 defenders at once and whooped them all (TOOK FOREVER). Yet even now at the complete neutral level with Navy (middle of the bar), I'm STILL part of the Navy, and I just can't figure out how to actually join the Outcasts. so I can have a cool "Outcast" next to my name.

IS ANYONE ABLE TO HELP? I'M LOSING MY SANITY AND EYESIGHT OVER THIS. It sure is tough to focus on the screen when trying to kill Patriots.....

The search feature is a good thing.

This has been discussed over 10 times on this forum, but I'll answer it again. The people you saw with tags did *NOT* really get them, it's a client-side bug that will only appear on your computer, and the tag will change when they leave the area or dock. The only "legitimate" tag you can get is the Navy tag at the beginning, and it's signified by flashing "Liberty Navy" on your reputation window. Ask these other people who have receivered things other than Navy whether their tag's faction is flashing on the reputation window - you'll find it isn't.

liberty navy is still flashing at my account, yet im not on that good terms with them anymore. barely green...

Once Liberty Navy goes white(neutral), it will stop flashing the next time you join the server. Hope they fix the rep thing though. Would feel alot better PK'ing people if they were enemies of the Junkers nStuff.. oh.
