Hmm thats interesting because I have been told that each multiplayer save file that is made is sort of encoded with a specific number unique to your computer which means you cannot switch the save files in between computers.
Hmm
If you managed to do it discount what i just said.
Just a thought

After copying files you should also change unique ID code. U can make it by reinstalling Freelancer... Or, i guess, using RegEdit...

The Move can be made on the server end. No issues.

On the player end all you need do is copy your id number and input it into the Freelancer install in the new machine. (be sure the origonal number is copied first.)

I managed to copy the user in multiplayer without doing anything with the ID code. On the new server i created a new user with the same name and all that stuff. Then i copyed the .fl file from the other server to the new one.

The only problem is that you'll be neutral to everyone, you don't have any friends or enemies. Like beginning from the start, but you got to keep your ship, money and all that. If someone know how to keep the old friends/enemies, please tell me.

The simple answer is, Serverside yes, basicaly all your doing is creating a new server side side list of players/clients that have visited your server, and the the stats pertaining to those accounts and characters.
Client side work it out
