I know your problem very well, heres the simply answer.

First i would suggest that you work on your faction with the Red Hessesians.
The Vogtland Base sells the Sabre, in my oppinion the best ship in game.

All you need is to kill some Police ships and i think it where the IMG Independent Miner.

But beware of killing too much of them

There are several ways of reaching your goal.

1: Look at the factions you want to befriends enemy list and start slaughtering them. (EG: To befriend Corsairs, go on a Molly Hunt)

2: To find member is a faction you want to bribe, locate criminal factions in the systems near your intended faction that are at least neutral to you. Usually you can find members of 2 or 3 criminal factions on any given criminal base. If you cannot bribe anyone then take some missions for that faction or an allied faction.

3: At The beginning of the game most of the criminal factions are neutral to you. If you make a beeline to a criminal base instead and do your first mission w/them. Despite the fact that they have no allies, going straight to Mactaw base in Magellin as soon as you start will make most of the criminals at least neutral to you, but you will be listed in the game as an outcast and if you're not carefull you may find yourself locked out from most of the bases and jumpgates in liberty. (because you are part of a criminal faction) On the plus side, most of the criminal bases will be open to you early in the game.

4: Run illegal goods. I've found that successful cardamine and artifact runs improve your prestige a bit with all of the local criminal factions in the receiving systems (and one or two of the shipping companies). There is also an easter egg involved in Cardamine running. You'll notice that often after successfull Cardamine runs you'll get to witness a freighter crashing into a planet.

The best ship in the game all depends on the player, im rank 32 with a eagle, lvl 10 shield, 4 nomad blasters n working on getting 2 shield brakers i find the eagle has better manoverability (sorry cant spell it lol ) and id take on n e titan or sabre n e day. so like i said all depends on the player

The Falcon is the best Mid-Level ship by far. The only upgrade you can get is the Eagle, unless you want to sacrifice your manuverability. The Falcon is pretty damn good, but can only mount up to class 8 weapons. I tried playing in a Valkyrie for a while, and it was no comparison...the Falcon looks and flies better, has better armor, and can mount better weapons.

No, you dont have to get in with criminals to get a VHF. You can get an Eagle. The only place it is sold is on Freeport 9, which is run by the Zoners (who are neutral to everyone). Freeport 9 also sells a class 9 shield. On my way to buy my Eagle, I passed through (I think it was) Omicron 41. There is an asteroid base there that sells the Titan...for whatever reason it was neutral to me, in spite of the fact that I had built a small fortune on the corpses of the criminal factions. So you do have at least 2 choices where class 10 ships are concerned.

Of course I exited the base and went and bought an Eagle still. I mean, stats aside, I just cant be seen flying in a ship that hideous. If the Titan were an actual person, he'd be a mentally retarded child molester. It's just not an attractive ship.

Oh, and if you want to get in good with the criminals, just go to Freeport 2 in Bering...a guy there hacks records to get you in with all the scum. I only used him to boost my Zoner faction, but he has offered for boosting Outcast, red Hessian, and Corsair faction as well. I will have to take this route after all, since these scum are the only source of class 10 shields in the game =(

I have picked up 2x JADE guns (off a wreck).. they are class 10 so I can't run them at the moment.. Are these going to work on anything less than a titan? they're worth 34k if I sell em..

No, you can only mount them on a Class 10 fighter

I have found the Eagle and Sabre to be the best ships out there so...

I wish they had battleships for high prices but cheaters get that kind of money asap any time any where they want!
