Start a server on lan, and join it yourself

I think this has been posted so sorry if it has
how do you create a server, and then join it yourself over lan ?..
I tried the flserver.exe but I can't join my own server..

You must create your server with the flserver.exe, where you don't make it "Internet Accessible". Then, start the normal freelancer.exe (the game) and go to Multiplayer, under LAN you will find your server to join! Enjoy.
