Yes looks really thin.

I thought I would try MP for the first time a few days ago, so went to E2.
There were 3 lvl 38s hanging about in the far reaches playing with Nomads or whatever, and 1 lvl 1 with a silly name who kept on dieing before I could find him.

I was not at all impressed with the experience.

I have to say I'm bored with the multiplayer as well. Joined a server, played good guys got my titan then got bored. Decided to play a pirate, got an eagle and level 38 just from camping a neutral outpost. Tried pirating with a group but that proved to be too unprofitable and hard to manage the factions. It's bound to happen with every game I guess, it's just a shame it didn't last longer for me.

I've started probably 15 characters on 15 different servers. After I earn about $2,000,000 there's not really much point in playing anymore. Sadly, it doesn't take very long to earn this much money. The game is too short and too easy. Microsoft fouled this one up.

Definition of insanity = doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Why waste your time playing FL the same way on several servers? I'd get bored too, but that would have been my choice to play it that way. Not the fault of the developer.

Did I say I've been doing the same thing the whole time? It's so easy to make money that it doesn't seem to matter how I play!

The problem is that I've run out of things to try, and haven't found a challenge along the way. The same thing over and over again is fun if it presents a challenge (proven by the popularity of any brainless multiplayer first person shooter).

Microsoft fouled up Mechwarrior 4 by making it too easy as well. I honestly think that all this game needs is a server-side difficulty slider. It makes me sad to see such a great game concept go so horribly wrong.

Well then I'd be wasting both our time explaining how you can make Freelancer more difficult huh by choosing to do something different than what you've done so far huh? I can hear it now, why do "that" when I can easily make 2 million in 2 hours? It's a vicious cycle.

Again, not the developers fault at all. Please attempt to name one game that is difficult and I'll bet there are people out there that think it is too easy and they're bored with it as well.

You get out of a game what you put into it, nothing more, nothing less. To blame the maker of the game is a cop out.

yes...this game gets boring way to quick. I've started out several differant times and gotten to lvl 38 everytime. Last time i played i made it to lvl 29 with out ever leaving New York and it was only in 2 hours. If there's an update, i'd like to see alot of changes to make it more balanced and fun.

Server will get more people if this game is FINALLY released in Europe,...

2 more weeks to go!

To bsspewer,... you gotta be kidding right,... getting to level 29 in two hours?????

In the demo it took me 2 hours to get to level 2. All i did was missions non stop,...

LOL, you guys. Play on a real server. I agree making money it too easy but when you have a server full of Pkers it gets decidedly harder. I used to not PK very much, and I still don't but after being PKed a lot I realized it makes the game more challenging so...if your outside of liberty, be on your toes.

Merc for hire...but only if you can afford it.

Ha!...yeah thats true!!....but say...does this "oppen comunnicate channel" work on real ppl in MP too?...I mean...with a avatar or somthin?

Post Sat Mar 29, 2003 12:10 am

yup..i really did it..and pk'ing is fun and makes it challanging..as long as both attacker and defender are challanged in that battle.
And all i did was fly around and shoot transports and sold their goods. No lie, try it..it's easy to do. At the end i had only shot one fighter, a bounty hunter, and that was to ease my rep w/ the xenos and lane hackers so they became neutral. Everybody else was either neutral or green..i was up to around a mill when i got so sick of it and decided to begin to venture out to get my sabre..lol, upgrading from a rhino to a sabre, that's what i call leveling up.

Ok, regnitS. I'll try playing left-handed tonight!

bored here too. game could be interesting if you could role play but you can't quite take on class 10 titans/sabres/eagles in bloodhounds playing a clan of rogues. unfortunately the multiplayer game is not involved enough to prove any interest. hoping for the modding community to balance the gameplay so that the replayability and longevity of the game is increased.
