Exactly when did I join the navy???

I have discovered that others (and presumabaly me too) are forcily conscripted in the Liberty Navy when we play MP. On the factions screen Liberty Navy is blinking in green and yellow, and on the screen the name is given as, f.ex. "Navy - EvulH3x4r".

The big downside is that the Rogues and all their friends hate me, so I can't do any trading to speak of, to get money for that Eagle. And even if I did, getting to Omicron Theta through clouds of pissed off Hessians and Corsairs is as likley as a snowball getting through the Von Rohe Belt :-( :-(

So why don't I start with a clean slate, everybody neutral, like I do when I run my own LAN server on my secondary computer.

its not that bad with the navy tag, even in omicron theta
but well, if you don´t like it, feel free to shoot down some navy ships, and I am sure soon criminals and terrorists will like you MUCH more, and the navy will have kicked you out *g*

the faction you belong to, is simply the one you have the best connections to, which is a the beginning of the game the liberty navy, but this can change in game easy once you actually start to play ^_^

Damn Noobs, they follow you really everywhere ....

And than even from the navy, those suckers are really everywhere ...

Blow up a defender and it will go away real fast. If you're neutral to everyone, what's the fun? That means you can make "diamond runs" in a rhino without any threat of being shot down, not very fun.

I thought it was because you are flying a military fighter...since I bought my Hawk, I didnt see the Navy tag anymore.
